To Define Responsibility Matrix Global Configuration

Global responsibility matrix configuration is the first step that must be completed in order to work with responsibility matrices in AssetWise CONNECT Edition ALIM.

A Virtual Item Group and a Virtual Item must be defined, per responsibility matrix, and are defined as follows:

  • A Virtual Item Group refers the to Virtual Item Group Document class, (a "Virtual Item Structure" Type AssetWise document). When defining the Global Configuration, the list of Virtual Item Groups is filtered based on Documents with Virtual Item Structure type. When the user creates a new Responsibility Matrix, the selection list displays templates filtered by scope, if appropriate, and based on the class selected in the Global Configuration Dialog.
Note: If this field is not set on the Global Configuration dialog, then Virtual Item Group selection list on the Responsibility Matrix page will be blank.
  • A Virtual Item refers to the class that is used to create new Level records and persons/skills records, when importing an Excel worksheet or making updates via the AssetWise CONNECT Edition ALIM Responsibility Matrix Management.
Note: If this field is not set on the Global Configuration dialog, then the Class selection list on the Responsibility Matrix page will be blank.
Each virtual item may be assigned one or more symbols. Each symbol represents a level of authority assigned to the user or skill group in a responsibility matrix. For example, "I" representing "Information Only" access, "R" representing "Reviewer" access, "C" representing "Consolidator" access, and "A" representing "Approver" access.

Your user account must have the appropriate security to be able to access this option.
